Bollywood Stars Like Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan and Gulzar Cast Votes in Mumbai Civic Polls

Several prominent Bollywood figures including Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Gulzar and veteran Salim Khan exercised their right to vote in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) civic polls, encouraging Mumbai residents to participate actively in the democratic process. Alongside them, actors such as Hema Malini, John Abraham, Sonali Bendre, Tamannaah Bhatia and others also cast their ballots and appealed to citizens to vote responsibly.

Kumar was one of the early voters at a polling station and urged Mumbaikars to view voting as their “remote control” to elect the right representatives, stressing the importance of civic participation. Aamir Khan also spoke about the good arrangements at polling stations and encouraged people to come out and vote. Lyricist-poet Gulzar highlighted that voting is a key duty in nurturing democracy.

The civic elections, held across 227 wards of the BMC as part of Maharashtra’s broader municipal polls, saw several other industry figures and public personalities exercising their franchise, underscoring the high public engagement around local governance.
